Party cannot approach High Court for fir Direction directly.

Judgments

1. G.Prabhakaran v. The Superintendent of Police, Thanjavur, reported in (2018) 2 LW Crl 489 &

2. M.Subramaniam v. S.Janaki, reported in (2020) 5 CTC 464 (S.C -3 Judge Bench).

Procedure

1. Party must first prefer information before the police u/s154 Cr.p.c.

2. Then communicate to s.p / commissioner.

3. Prefer 156(3) cr.p.c application.

4. Only then party may approach High court.
